Stark & Stark Shareholders Evan Lide and Brian Shea were nominated to the Board of the Mercer County Bar Association (MCBA) by its nominating committee and approved by the members via vote at the organization’s November 10, 2020, General Membership meeting. They join Shareholder James Creegan, who is currently serving as the 81st President of the Mercer County Bar Association, as leaders within the MCBA. James’s term runs through January 2021, when the incoming officers and trustees will be sworn into their new positions.

The MCBA is an important organization to many of the attorneys at Stark & Stark, and the firm stands by its mission “to serve its members and to aid and instruct the public in matters pertaining to the law, the practice of law and the legal system and to promote the administration of justice in Mercer County, the State of New Jersey and the United States of America.

Shareholder Evan Lide has been nominated for a three-year term as a trustee. Evan has served as the co-chair of the Civil section in the MCBA. He focuses his practice on representing people who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other catastrophic injury, including death, resulting from automobile crashes, products liability, and premises liability.

Shareholder Brian Shea has been nominated to become Secretary of the MCBA, which is the first step onto the leadership ladder to becoming President in 2024. Brian previously completed two three year terms as a Trustee and has chaired multiple sections, including the Budget Committee, the Young Lawyers Committee, and the Workers Compensation section. Brian represents injured workers in claims for workers’ compensation benefits, with an extensive background in the workers’ compensation practice.

As the 81st President of the MCBA, James Creegan was recognized for his hard work and dedication to the legal profession, its practitioners, and the Mercer County community. James has focused on strengthening the MCBA’s commitment to Diversity and Inclusion through an ongoing Diversity series focused on the experience and guidance of attorneys from diverse backgrounds as well as concrete advice for sustaining inclusive environments and serving as an upstander. James specializes in representing injured workers from a variety of backgrounds throughout the state, including those who have suffered significant spinal injuries, totally disabled individuals, and workers injured as a result of the negligence of a third party.

Shareholders Bryan Roberts, Jennifer Millner, and Rob Morris also serve as Trustees of the MCBA. In addition, a number of Stark & Stark attorneys chair or co-chair various MCBA committees, dedicated to serving the attorneys and citizens in Mercer County:

Affinity Bar Committee – Bhaveen Jani, Co-Chair

Bankruptcy Committee – Tom Onder and Marshall Kizner, Co-Chairs

Budget Committee – Brian Shea, Co-Chair

Civil Bench Bar – Evan Lide, Co-Chair

Due Diligence Committee – Rob Bratman, Chair

    Estate Planning/Chancery/Probate – Robert Morris, Co-Chair

Family Bench Bar – Lou Ragone, Co-Chair

Golf Outing Committee – Bryan Roberts, Co-Chair

    Women Lawyers – Stephanie Colella-Walsh, Co-Chair

Young Lawyers – Michael Jordan, Co-Chair

The work of the various MCBA committees ranges from interacting with the Judiciary in specific practice areas, providing CLE programming and updates, community service and planning events for members throughout the year.
