How ISO 27001 Impacts Our Clients
ISO 27001 is one of the most widely recognized and internationally accepted information security standards that define how an organization should manage and treat information more securely.
This certification defines a framework to safeguard client information. ISO 27001 is additional proof of Stark & Stark’s commitment to information security, taking steps to keep client data safe, secure, and appropriately managed. “Law firms have a significant amount of sensitive data, and it is our responsibility to continue to take steps to do our very best to protect that information on behalf of our clients,” said Stark & Stark’s General Counsel Craig Hilliard. The certification means Stark & Stark has adopted a best practices approach to information security management and has established policies and procedures to ensure the security of the firm’s client information will be continuously improving and evolving.
This certification demonstrates the Firm’s main information security objectives:
- Protect data that is crucial to the Firm and its clients;
- Detect and reduce cyber threats;
- Mitigate risk and ensure stable operations;
- Minimize liability and business risks for clients and the Firm; and
- Provide confidence to the firm’s clients and stakeholders.
“Our drive to achieve this level of security is client satisfaction. We are committed to continuous improvement to information security. Obtaining this certification for our Firm was truly a team effort,” said Stark & Stark Managing Shareholder Michael Donahue.
“We value the need to remain proactive in safeguarding our clients’ confidential information, as well as our own. Stark & Stark is committed to maintaining the highest standards of protection for the sensitive information that is entrusted to us by our clients,” said Greg Deatz, Chief Operating Officer at Stark & Stark.
