Bhaveen Jani, Esq. Selected as a 2021 “Diverse Attorney of the Year” by NJLJ

Bhaveen Jani, Esq.Stark & Stark is proud to announce that the New Jersey Law Journal has selected attorney Bhaveen Jani as a “2021 Diverse Attorney of the Year*.” This bi-annual honor recognizes attorneys from across New Jersey making a substantial impact at a law firm, in-house legal department, government agency, or public interest organization. Recipients are selected following a submission and review process (source).

Bhaveen is a Shareholder and trial attorney in the Firm’s Accident & Personal Injury Group. He focuses his practice on motor vehicle and tractor-trailer crashes which result in catastrophic injuries, construction accidents, and premises liability matters. Mr. Jani frequently appears in federal, state, and appellate courts in New Jersey.

At Stark & Stark, Bhaveen serves on the DEI Committee. He is the founding member of the mentorship program at the Firm, aiming to retain underrepresented attorneys. As the Chair of the Mentorship Committee, he has helped frame the requirements for mentees and mentors and presented the program to all employees. The mentorship program is now offered to all new hires to the Firm and fosters a more inclusive environment. Through his work on these committees, Mr. Jani affects policy change to promote diversity and supportive environments.

Additionally, Mr. Jani is a very active member of the bar and community. This year, Mr. Jani became the President of the South Asian Bar Association of NJ (SABA-NJ). The organization is the largest affinity bar association in NJ, representing the rapidly growing South Asian population and containing about 250 members who are judges, lawyers, and law students.

Diversity and inclusion is extremely important to Mr. Jani, both professionally and personally. In addition to his work with SABA-NJ, Mr. Jani also serves on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ).
