Stephen Stefano is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney, and, since 2007, he has been a member of the firm’s Accident & Personal Injury practice in the Marlton, New Jersey office. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and District of Columbia.
Stephen represents plaintiffs in personal injury matters, representing clients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other damages resulting from automobile crashes, dangerous products, and premise liability matters. Additionally, he has extensive experience in representing clients who have sustained serious injuries resulting from dog bites, defective products, assaults, and other cases of general liability. Besides handling jury trials, he negotiates settlements and handles mediations and arbitrations on behalf of those who are injured. He volunteers his time as a mentor in Stark & Stark’s mentoring program for new attorneys and staff.
Prior to joining Stark & Stark, Stephen served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James E. Rafferty, the Presiding Judge of General Equity for the Gloucester County, Cumberland County, and County Salem Vicinage of Superior Court of New Jersey.
In addition to his legal career, Stephen holds a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS), permitting him to teach history at both the middle and high school levels.
In 2024, Stephen was appointed to a three-year term as a trustee of the Camden County Bar Association. He also is the chair of the CLE Committee of the Camden County Bar Association.
He is a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Leadership Board of the National Arthritis Foundation.
Since 2019, Stephen has served as the attorney-coach of the Bishop Eustace Preparatory School’s mock trial team for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s annual Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition.
Outside of work, he is an avid Peloton rider, runner, and a longtime member of the Road Runners Club of Woodbury.
