Scott I. Unger is a Shareholder and member of Stark & Stark’s Litigation Group where he concentrates his practice on litigation arising out of business and commercial disputes. Mr. Unger regularly counsels business owners on the prosecution and defense of minority oppression litigation (corporate divorces), breach of contract cases, uniform commercial code (U.C.C.) litigation, consumer fraud claims, appellate practice, and estate litigation. Mr. Unger has extensive experience litigating cases in a variety of jurisdictions, including, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, Texas and Maryland.

Mr. Unger counsels corporations and their executives on employment issues; he defends claims of workplace discrimination and wrongful discharge; and prosecutes the enforcement of restrictive covenant, non-compete, non-solicit and confidentiality agreements.

In 2014 Mr. Unger successfully defended a Top 50 wealth advisory and accounting firm in a lawsuit aledging unjust enrichment, conversion and breach of contract arising from information stored in a CRM system. Plaintiff had sought damages in excess of $5 million. Prior to trial, Mr. Unger's client made a settlement offer of $350,000 that was rejected. After a two week trial in United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the jury returned a verdict of $300,000.

In 2007, Mr. Unger was included in the New Jersey Law Journal's list of Top 40 Lawyers under 40 and was honored by his inclusion in the 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 lists of New Jersey Super Lawyers by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.* Mr. Unger is a frequent contributor to the New Jersey Law Blog.
