Robert J. Durst II is Chair of the Divorce Group of Stark & Stark. He limits his practice to substantial matrimonial and custody matters.

Mr. Durst is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Matrimonial Attorney and by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Attorney.

Mr. Durst is a frequent lecturer  on Family Law topics, was a Co-Founder of the New Jersey Summer Family Law Institute and is currently the Co Director of the American Trial Lawyers annual Boardwalk Seminar on Family Law. His leading lectures include a nationally known presentation on the distribution of stock options in a divorce, the use and distribution of life insurance in divorce cases and an original series on evidence in divorce cases.

He has taught at the annual training and orientation course for Family Court Law Clerks, the New Jersey Judicial College and the Orientation/Training programs for newly appointed Family Court Judges as well as numerous local, state and National Continuing Legal Education courses.

He has received Martindale Hubble's highest rating and is included in its Registry of Pre Eminent Attorneys.

Mr. Durst is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has served as its Chapter President and as a member of its National Board of Governors.

He has been elected as a Diplomate, of the American College of Family Trail Lawyers, a national organization whose membership is limited to 100 divorce attorneys nationwide.

In 2003 he was awarded the New Jersey State Bar Association's Family Law Section's Tishcler Award in recognition of his lifetime of achievements in the area of Family Law.

Mr. Durst has been honored by his inclusion in Woodward/White’s “The Best Lawyers in America” for 10 consecutive years.  He has been cited by New Jersey Monthly Magazine as one of the Top Divorce Lawyers in New Jersey every year since 1998. In 2005 Mr. Durst was designated in New Jersey Monthly Magazine's "New Jersey Super Lawyers" edition as one of the Top 100 lawyers and in 2006 he was selected as one of the Top 10 Super Lawyers in New Jersey. In 2009 Mr. Durst was named as a New Jersey Super Lawyer by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.
