Kevin M. Hart is an expert Civil Trial Attorney as certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Mr. Hart is also a member of the firm’s Litigation, Corporate Investigations & White Collar, Shareholder & Partner Disputes, Insurance Coverage & Liability, and Mass Tort practices.
Mr. Hart has over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer. He has litigated civil and criminal cases in both federal and state courts, representing businesses and individuals in matters ranging from the sale and break-up of corporations, class actions, securities fraud, construction litigation, mass torts, shareholder disputes, criminal fraud, and embezzlements. He has also represented both the FDIC and RTC in various types of litigation involving failed banks, real estate matters, and general litigation. Mr. Hart has a significant amount of experience representing companies and individuals. He has an in-depth understanding of the prosecution function based on his experience as a prosecutor.
Corporate investigations are sensitive by nature. Many, including those in which our efforts have ended in a significant result, will never become public knowledge. Even those that have come to public attention remain sensitive issues for our clients. Accordingly, in this area, we do not disclose client names. The scope of our experience in these investigations relates to almost every significant area of White Collar Crime, including securities fraud, healthcare fraud, RICO, public corruption and environmental crimes, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance issues.
Mr. Hart is the co-founder of the Stark & Stark Mass Tort/Pharmaceutical Litigation Team. The Mass Tort/Pharmaceutical Litigation Team is dedicated to applying its extensive experience in successfully prosecuting and defending large, complex class and mass tort actions. Currently, we are focusing on pharmaceutical injury claims on behalf of individuals and their families.
Mr. Hart also has extensive experience in representing clients in green litigation, including disputes arising from the sale and construction of industrial technologies, disputes involving renewable energy sources, and solar power installations.
From 1978 to 1980, Mr. Hart was a Deputy Attorney General with the State of New Jersey, Division of Criminal Justice. In 1986, he was certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and was re-certified in 1994, 2002, 2008, and 2014.
Mr. Hart has been an adjunct professor of Business Environment and Policy at Rider University since 1983. He has lectured frequently on topics related to business and litigation issues including fraud, white-collar crime, shareholder disputes, and acquisitions and mergers. Mr. Hart serves as a legal analyst in these areas for Fox News, NBC News, and Comcast CN8.
