At Home, the 200-location Plano, Texas based home décor and furniture retail filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday in the District of Delaware, docket 25-11120 (JKS), under At Home Group Inc. and other related entities.
CBS News reported that the company is entering Chapter 11 protection as part of a restructuring support agreement to eliminate $2 billion in debt and provide $200 million in capital.
Brad Weston, CEO of At Home stated, “While we have made significant progress advancing our initiatives to date, we are operating against the backdrop of an increasingly dynamic and rapidly evolving trade environment as we navigate the impact of tariffs.”
Bloomberg reported that rising tariffs were a main reason for the company entering into a forbearance agreement with lenders after it missed an interest payment on May 15, 2025.
