Stark & Stark Achieves 2024–2025 Mansfield Certification, Celebrating Commitment to Inclusive Leadership
Stark & Stark is proud to announce that the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification for 2024–2025 through our partnership with Diversity Lab, reflecting our steadfast commitment to fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity in the legal profession.
We confirm our participation in the 2025–2026 certification cycle, joining more than 275 peer firms engaged in efforts to create a fair and transparent pathway to leadership in the legal profession.
“Achieving Mansfield Certification affirms our ongoing commitment to building a fair and inclusive culture—one where leadership opportunities are transparent and every talented attorney has the chance to thrive,” said Michael Donahue, Managing Shareholder.
The Mansfield Rule is named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States. The initiative measures whether law firms affirmatively consider diverse attorneys for hiring, advancement, and significant leadership roles. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse attorneys in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities.
Under this initiative, Stark & Stark is committed to obtaining a candidate pool that consists of at least 30% women, attorneys from underrepresented racial and/or ethnic groups, attorneys with disabilities, and/or LGBTQ+ attorneys. Mansfield also reinforces our commitment to transparency in internal governance, particularly with our selection guidelines and newly developed resources to support advancement into firm management and other leadership roles.
“This certification reflects the intentional steps we’re taking to strengthen transparency and equity in how we recruit, promote, and develop talent,”” said Suzanne Kizis, Director of Human Resources “Since 2022, we have been proud to be part of a movement that holds firms accountable for creating lasting change.”
