Eric Z. Stevenson is an Associate and a member of Stark & Stark’s Business & Corporate Practice Group. Mr. Stevenson concentrates his practice in the representation of start-up companies, investment companies, and non-profit organizations on a variety of issues, including corporate formation, financing, franchising, licensing, acquisitions, executive compensation, equity compensation plans, employment agreements, real estate, governance, and intellectual property law.
Prior to joining Stark & Stark, Mr. Stevenson served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable L. Grace Spencer, J.S.C, of the Civil Division, a judicial intern to the Honorable Stacey L. Meisel, of the United States Bankruptcy Court and as a legal extern to the Federal Trade Commission. He also worked for a variety of large media companies in New York City, concentrating on contract negotiation and licensing.
Mr. Stevenson also has an extensive practice counseling not-for-profit organizations. His clients include a variety of 501(c)(3) and other tax-exempt organizations, such as private foundations, supporting organizations, religious entities including cemeteries, research institutions, and social welfare organizations. He advises clients on the qualifications for tax exemption, conversions to and from tax-exempt status, reporting and government filings, and the creation and operation of supporting organizations. He also counsels organizations on nonprofit governance, employment matters, advocacy issues, endowment management, and issues involving charitable solicitations, mergers, and acquisitions.
