Gary S. Forshner is a Shareholder and member of Stark & Stark’s Real Estate, Zoning & Land Use Group. Mr. Forshner concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, redevelopment, land use (zoning and planning) and a wide range of real estate development. Mr. Forshner represents owners and developers in a broad array of industries with regard to redevelopment, mixed-use, affordable housing, residential, industrial, retail and office development projects. He has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, including zoning and planning, leasing, and municipal bidding.  His practice includes representation of national, international and local developers, and businesses as well as charitable and religious organizations. Mr. Forshner served as special land use counsel to municipalities and to the New Jersey Builders Association. He currently serves as Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Land Use Section.

Mr. Forshner regularly speaks on such topics as zoning and planning, redevelopment, affordable housing, sustainable energy, land use, eminent domain, real estate transactions, financing and leasing, post-storm rebuilding and attorney and governmental ethics for numerous organizations including the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (of the New Jersey State Bar Association), New Jersey Builders Association, International Council of Shopping Centers, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, National Business Institute, Mid-Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton Partnership, TriState REALTORS Commercial Alliance, Mercer County Board of Realtors, and Mercer County Bar Association.

Mr. Forshner's long history of community service and civic involvement includes currently serving as the First Vice President, Trustee and General Counsel to the South Brunswick Family YMCA (including chairing the Major Gift Campaign).  In 2005 Mr. Forshner was named as the Man of the Year by the Adath Israel Congregation and in 2008 he was honored by the South Brunswick Family YMCA.  He was honored with the Associate Hall of Fame Award by the New Jersey Builders Association in 2013, having been nominated by the Builders League of South Jersey. Additionally, Mr. Forshner was honored as the first recipient of the NJBA Builders’ Choice Award in 2013, as selected by NJBA members. 

Mr. Forshner was recognized by Real Estate New Jersey Magazine in their 2009 “Meet the Lawyers” edition. This recognition is an annual compilation of the Garden State’s top real estate attorneys who have been selected because of their in-depth knowledge of the real estate industry and their involvement in some of New Jersey’s biggest projects. Additionally, Mr. Forshner has been honored by his inclusion in Woodward/White's 2010 - 2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America and the 2012 - 2015 editions of New Jersey Monthly Magazine's list of New Jersey Super Lawyers*.
