Michael J. Brittan, Associate, is a member of the Employment Litigation Group. Prior to joining Stark & Stark Mr. Brittan was a summer law clerk for Selzer Gurvitch Rabin & Obecny, Chartered in Bethesda, Maryland where he drafted motions for summary judgment in cases ranging from simple contract disputes to contests involving the struggle over a family trust.
Mr. Brittan also interned for the Untied States District Court for the District of Columbia in the office of Chief Judge Thomas F. Hogan where he drafted bench memoranda to prepare the chief judge for upcoming cases, prepared research memoranda to assist the chief judge’s law clerks in opinion writing, and authored drafts of Memorandum Opinions and Orders resolving habeas corpus petitions and a summary judgment motion filed in a large trademark suit.
While attending The George Washington School of Law, Mr. Brittan was a legal intern for the Federal Communications Commission as a member of the Enforcement Bureau in the Spectrum Enforcement Division, where he prepared forfeiture orders assessing the monetary liability of various entities in violation of FCC rules and regulations. Mr. Brittan was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
